Iedereen spreekt er met veel lof over…en inderdaad…het is schitterend. Het is een schiereiland met het meest zuidelijke punt van Australië zo’n 220km van Melbourne.

Vandaag rijden we vanuit Cooma naar Jindabyne waar we in het Snowy Region Visitor Centre de nodige informatie vinden voor de komende dagen. Al vlug beseffen we dat we weeral veel te weinig tijd hebben.
Rond 10u30 vertrekken we naar de Charlotte’s Pass in het Kosciuszko National Park. Na een prachtige rit langs het Lake Jindabyne komen we aan de ingang van het park waar we een entry fee betalen van 16dollar om er precies 24u te verblijven.
Woensdag 21november2012
Vandaag rijden we de Blue Mountains binnen. De naam is afkomstig van de olie die de eucalyptusbomen afgeven en zo een blauwe mist verspreiden over het gebied. De bergen liggen 65km van Sydney en hebben een oppervlakte zo groot als België. Het is een zandsteenformatie die doorkruist wordt dor diep geërodeerde valleien.

In most cases that goes quite easy, but some things ask some more attention. Turning around a corner is not always that easy, however they place mostly signs ‘keep left’ at the lane, so that helps.
We leave Kin Kin and continue our trip to Noosa Head, a beach village with an entire surf climate along its pristine beaches. Along the road we pass a self car wash. After three months Janis can use a bath, but all the sea water we caught on Fraser makes a good cleaning necessary. We enjoy the high pressure cleaning and give her a huge shower. We finally know once again which colour our car initially had. But we visit Noosa for the small national park in the city, the spot is known to see some koala’s in the wild… And yes we’re once again lucky! At the start of the trip there rest one in a tree near the coffee shop, a cute grey bear on a tree branch.
