Broome and the Dampier Peninsula

All starts good when we reach the city. Along the road a sign tells us ‘fresh veggies’ at a nearby farm. We decide to pass and finally… Tomatoes, capsicum, cucumber, salad, watermelon, eggplants and zucchini at fair prices! What will these fresh vegetables taste delicious the next meals. It seems an eternity since we tasted much more than fresh carrots, onions and potatoes.

Dinsdag 21augustus

Al heel vroeg worden we gewekt door het gedreun van de roadtrains. Na een klein ontbijt gaan we onmiddellijk de baan op richting New Norcia. Een heerlijk gevoel…bijna alleen op de weg! We rijden in een glooiend landschap met heel wat schapen. Oharme die dieren…zo slordig geschoren! Dit is echt wel zonder respect gebeurd! Papa deed het indertijd toch veel beter! Die kon scheren met liefde!

Fremantle and Perth, in search for Janis

Upon arrival in Perth, Western Australia, rain and cold greet us. We arrive in wintertime here. After the heath of Indonesia, a huge adaptation! But the warmth and helpfulness of the people at the airport and on the buses make us soon enjoying being here. From the airport we head to Munster, near Fremantle where we stay our first couple of days with Julie, Nick and their dog Jack.
