After these quiet days around Pijao, Carol joins us with Matteo for a couple of days to Salento and its surroundings. We meet them the next morning, to hop on the bus for the next adventure.
Salento is a beautiful mountain town, with as main attraction the Valle de Cocora, a cosy mountain valley with majestic 60m high palm trees in it. A Willy drops us at the start of the trail, where man and horse alike can make the climb through the circuit… Not really suitable for a 4 months old baby and his mother, since the mud makes many places nearly impassable. Nonetheless the two of them do a wonderful job and manage the circuit.
Around noon, Carol and Matteo make a steep climb to a panoramic finca, while Ilse and I make a detour to the kolibri farm. These funny birds hover all around the place, gathering nectar or sugar water… We get a cacao and some cheese as refreshment, before we go back and join Carol again.
From there the walk back to Cocora is easier, along a wide, clean path and through the real palm valley. This second part is much more relaxing and beautiful as the first leg… We end the day with some hamburgers before we go back to the hostel.
The next day, it is already time to say goodbye… From Salento we take the bus to Pereira, while Carol and Matteo return to Armenia… We spent some nice days with Carol and the little Matteo! It was really nice to meet the two of you.
On the Road 
Fue la primera caminata larga con Matteo 6 horas fue cansadito para el tambien, pero disfruto de la naturaleza, es increible como les encanta la naturaleza a los bebes
Que feliz estuvo él con ustedes esos dias.
Bueno ya exploraron alguito el estar con un bebe pequeño, es un poco trabajoso y cansadito a veces, pero cuando sabes que provienen y son parte de ti y dependen solo de ti, haces de todo para hacer lo mejor posible y la satisfaccion es inmensa, entonces el trabajo y el cansancio lo toleras y quedan de lado, él te lo agradece mucho cuando te roban la mirada y se rien mirandote fijamente a los ojos, queriendo hablar y expresando sus sentimientos de amor. Eso es todo lo que necesitas.
No importa si estan a un extremo del mundo sin familia, ni amigos, solos con vuestra semilla, mientras ustedes esten bien, alegres y estables, el bebe es feliz.
Yo soy feliz con Matteo.
