LeShan: Buddha’s and visa’s

When we arrive in Chengdu, we decide to take an immediate bus to Leshan.
There we want to apply for a visum extension, which seems to go easily
there. Tomorrow we’ll check that out. For now it is just finding a
hotel – which is a little bit hard if you only have an English hotel
name where you want to stay. But one hour later we check in in a nice
room… Before falling asleep we go out for dinner by the locals.
Just nosing in the fridge and showing them we want this and that does the job…
And then bedtime…

Terracotta Walls in Xi’An

Next morning we head to the railway station for our train to Xian,
capital of Shaanxi province… Upon arrival we discover it is a high
speed train, which goes from another station. We order a taxi, but it
takes some 25 minutes to get us to the right station, outside town, so
we manage again to miss a train! Luckily these G ones are easily
swapped, so we arrange a ride at 12:44 instead of 8:37…

Kung Fu Panda in LuoYang

Next station : LuoYang, Henan province, for some famous sightseeing…
The first spot on the list are the Buddhist Rock Temples of Longman.
Once again a huge complex along the riverside. On the west side there
are numerous smaller and bigger caves with some very beautiful statues
inside.

The Great Wall

The most famous element around Beijing stays the Great Wall… The trip to
there (some 80 km’s out of town) we spent with Pablo – our couch from
Shanghai, Miguel and Valeria (a couple Pablo also invited) to explore that
location. We made a very steep climb up to the Mutianjou restored section.
After two hours intensive climbing we got on the wall (since we missed the
right road to get up, normally it takes only some 45′).
